The Future of Lab Tests is Your Mobile Device

About 37 million U.S. adults have some form of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and 90 percent do not know they have it. Researchers at Kaiser Permanente are partnering with our client, Scanwell Health, to study the feasibility and accuracy of at-home kidney health monitoring in people with CKD. Study participants are using Scanwell’s at-home CKD test which uses a mobile app to analyze participants’ urine samples. Researchers will use the study data to determine if monthly monitoring allows for earlier identification of people whose disease is progressing. They data also will be used to predict who is at higher or lower risk for disease progression. Read the case study we developed highlighting this important work.
